Wedding Sneak Peek: Paige and Mike- Part II

We both loved all the personal touches of Paige and Mike's Wedding. You could really get a sense of them in every little detail, and there was so much history involved in their wedding. They were married at Mike's family ranch that has been in his family for over 100 years. The original small wooden house even still remains on that property, and Mike’s parents were also married at the ranch. The main family house was filled with antique furniture, including a grand piano and 1950’s wallpaper. Of course I had to use both of those for some of Paige's bridal portraits. The farm/country background was too perfect to pass up.

One of my favorite parts in the ceremony was the exchanging of the rings. Mike, in family tradition, gave Paige his grandmother’s ring which his grandfather saved for 12 years to buy during the depression. Paige gave Mike a ring inlaid with a band of California Black Walnut, a wood known for its strength and beauty which also served as a reminder of Mike’s roots and heritage.

We had a lot of ground that we wanted to cover after the ceremony, so we figured out how to load Paige up on a quad covered in towels and drive her around the property. It was a lot of fun! Mike and his father are landscape contractors and they also planted onions as the favors for the guests to pull out of the ground and take home.

The flowers at the wedding by Cambray Rose, and we loved how they were made up to look like wildflower bouquets! Bacio Catering did the dinner and h'or d'oeuvres and everyone was raving about how good it was!

Wedding Sneak Peek: Celeste and Sean Davis

Here is a little sneak peek of some of our favorite images from Celeste and Sean's wedding from last weekend! They had a beautiful wedding at Skylake Gardens in Chico, CA. The grounds were in full bloom, and there were so many great locations for pictures. Celeste looked stunning in her wedding dress in the garden! The weather was perfect, but I think everyone could agree that it could have been just a few degrees cooler. There were times when I was tempted to go swimming in the lake! Check back in a few weeks or so for more pictures from their wedding!

Portrait Session: Reinhardt Family

Last week we met up with Andrea and her family at Bidwell Park. It was such a beautiful day, and it seemed like everyone was out at One Mile on a Wednesday afternoon! I couldn't believe that people were already swimming in the creek! I think I will wait until it gets a little warmer, though. I loved the bench that Andrea brought to use as a prop in her family photos. Thanks, Andrea! It was a very cute bench, and you have a beautiful family!

Wedding Sneak Peek: Paige and Mike - Part 1

Mike and Paige got married last weekend at their family's ranch in Flournoy, CA. It was such a fun wedding! There were plenty of tears and laughing all the time, and everything was very beautiful. One of our favorite places to shoot on the ranch was their old equipment boneyard. It was full old cars and some great tractors. Here are just a few of our favorites from the wedding. Check back later for some more!

Engagement: Mike and Casi

Yesterday we had the pleasure of meeting Casi and Mike for their engagement session in Redding, CA. Casi and Mike drove up from Tracy to go to the Sundial Bridge for some of their engagement shots. We started out our excursion at the Sweet Spot in Redding because they meet while Casi was working at an ice cream shop. Two weeks ago we had scouted Redding for possible ice cream locations and I fell in love with this shop the moment I walked in! I love the funky decor and the cool chalk board wall and knew immediately we could do some really cute stuff. Plus, it helps that that they have delicious gelato and fantastic cupcakes! Casi also immediately loved the place when she walked in. Afterwards we headed over to Turtle Bay's Botanical Gardens and finished up at the Sundial Bridge. Casi is the sister of one of our brides getting married in October in Tahoe. Casi is going to be the maid of honor and Mike is going to be the Best Man at Crystal and James' Wedding! They are getting married next April at The Palm Event Center in Pleasanton, CA.

Paige and Mike: Sneak Peek

Paige and Mike are getting married in Flournoy, Ca at Mike's family ranch on May 8, 2010. We had a mini engagement session out on the ranch last weekend when they were up from San Fransisco. Mike's grandfather bought the property back in the 50's and his original house is still there. We had a great time touring the site with Paige and Mike, and can't wait to use all the great locations for their wedding portraits! For now, here is a little sneak peek of their engagement portraits.

Florence, Oregon

A little while ago we traveled up to the dunes in Oregon to spend some time with our friends. The first day we got there the weather was perfect, and Dusty even tried out dirt biking in the dunes! Dusty got dragged out shopping with us girls, and he and I went exploring downtown and then antiquing. He is so great! Unfortunately, despite a couple hours of searching, we were unable to find more cute chairs for our props. Afterwards, we headed up the coast to the Heceta Point Light House to quickly scout for locations for the engagement pictures we were going to do later that afternoon with Jenny and Randy, and Randy's brother Andy and his fiancee Cinamon. The weather was perfect up until we got back to the vacation rental and then it started raining! I was very disappointed, and there was talk of us not doing the engagement sessions. We had even checked the weather for the whole weekend before we left and it was supposed to be sunny! In the end, we did end up going, and we managed to find two black umbrellas. It was really raining for the majority of the shots, and I had to use an umbrella myself while trying to juggle the cameras all at the same time. We realized that we need to invest in some water resistant camera gear! Anyway, the next day we went home, but on the way we went to the antique shops in Jacksonville, Oregon and I finally found two new chairs!
