Wedding Sneak Peek: Paige and Mike- Part II

We both loved all the personal touches of Paige and Mike's Wedding. You could really get a sense of them in every little detail, and there was so much history involved in their wedding. They were married at Mike's family ranch that has been in his family for over 100 years. The original small wooden house even still remains on that property, and Mike’s parents were also married at the ranch. The main family house was filled with antique furniture, including a grand piano and 1950’s wallpaper. Of course I had to use both of those for some of Paige's bridal portraits. The farm/country background was too perfect to pass up.

One of my favorite parts in the ceremony was the exchanging of the rings. Mike, in family tradition, gave Paige his grandmother’s ring which his grandfather saved for 12 years to buy during the depression. Paige gave Mike a ring inlaid with a band of California Black Walnut, a wood known for its strength and beauty which also served as a reminder of Mike’s roots and heritage.

We had a lot of ground that we wanted to cover after the ceremony, so we figured out how to load Paige up on a quad covered in towels and drive her around the property. It was a lot of fun! Mike and his father are landscape contractors and they also planted onions as the favors for the guests to pull out of the ground and take home.

The flowers at the wedding by Cambray Rose, and we loved how they were made up to look like wildflower bouquets! Bacio Catering did the dinner and h'or d'oeuvres and everyone was raving about how good it was!

  1. Love the wedding Sneak Peek. I also got married with my long-time boyfriend. It was a fantastic party hosted at one of the Chicago venues. We had hired the best party decorator. We selected the luxurious themed reception party which turned out to be awesome and loved by all.
